2011 Case Against Megastar Chiranjeevi Quashed

Back in 2014, that was the last ever election canvassing Megastar Chiranjeevi has done for the Congress Party, just before Telugu state of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh got bifurcated by his bosses in Delhi. And then, there was this Court case that troubled him.

Campaigning for Congress candidate C Gopinath in Hosur in 2011, it was alleged by the police that Chiranjeevi has done the promotions even after the stipulated deadline of 10 pm. And in 2012, a lower court has not only accepted this Charge sheet but also issued a non-bailable warrant to Chiranjeevi for not appearing before the court.

Later Chiranjeevi’s counsel claimed that the actor was actually returning back to his resting place after wrapping a road show and police have tried to showcase that as a campaigning act as many people are accommodating the actor on this journey. Agreeing to Chiru’s version, High Court has quashed the case, giving a great relief to the Megastar.

And now that he is completely snapped from the last link with politics, will Chiranjeevi join the campaign race for Congress or will he officially announce his retirement is something we have to see.
