Judgement reserved on the demolition of Telangana Secretariat

The shift of the Secretariat of Telangana in Hyderabad is a long standing process that is going on since many months now.

In the last hearing, the Judge panel had asked the KCR government to first select the designs of the new secretariat building and then only to initiate the demolishing of the existing buildings.

When the judges panel had asked for reasons for the shift of Secretariat, the Government said multiple reasons such as the water is seeping due to old buildings, the space is not sufficient, fire accidents are not under control etc. And the Petitioner side lawyers have argued that to shift the Secretariat is just a waste of Public Funds.

After listening to both the side arguments, the Court has reserved the judgement. Almost 400 to 500 crores of Public Funds will be wasted for construction of the new buildings, said the Petitioners.

If there are repairs, the petitioners demanded that they be repaired and not demolished for such small reasons.
