Praveen Prakash is the Principal Secretary to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, at the Chief Minister’s Office. He is also known to yield a lot of influence at the office, and with the Chief Minister as well. Perhaps, taking this influence into consideration, Praveen Prakash had crossed his limits with the AP SEC NImmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
Praveen Prakash had sent a letter to Nimmagadda, summoning the latter to a meeting that the former would preceding over, regarding the upcoming local body elections in the state. However, fact remains that no one can take any sort of action with respect to the SEC, officially, as he is on par with a High Court Judge, as per law.
Keeping this in mind, Nimmagadda has reacted strongly to the letter sent to him, and the fact that he was summoned by Praveen Prakash for a meeting. Nimmagadda has also said that he would take this issue to the notice of legal experts, and has also advised his subordinates to not attend any meeting without his knowledge.
The Andhra Pradesh government has taken many wrong steps with respect to the SEC, and is now trying to even overpower the SEC’s duties, and interfere with them, at least according to opposition parties. With many differences already prevailing between the SEC and the government, this issue has now become yet another hot topic in AP political circles.
If Nimmagadda decides to organise the local body elections, the government has to mandatorily comply with his decision and cooperate with him on the aspect. But, the government is apparently against conducting the elections right now, because of which it is being said that the government has decided to conduct the meeting with Praveen Prakash.
With Nimmagadda reacting strongly to the letter, and stating that he would take legal action, it is being said that Praveen Prakash called Nimmagadda and personally apologised for the mistake. Despite that, it is being said that Nimmagadda is very much fixated upon taking the issue to the notice of legal experts.
