It is known that AP Chief Minister Jagan has appointed Aditya Nath Das as the next Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. He is currently the CCLA. Current Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney will retire on the 31st of this month.
Already the center has given Sawhney an extension for two times and finally, she has to retire. However Jaganmohan Reddy decided to continue her services appointed her as Jagan’s Principal Adviser.
Of course, Sawhney emerged as Jagan’s favourite with her mind and the way she handled the pressures from the High Court and the other bodies like Election Commission. The controversial laws and decisions took by Jagan were well backed up by Sahani and she will be expected to play a key role in Jagan’s office for sure in the coming days.
Coming to soon-to-be new CS Aditya Nath Das, it is a different story. Chief ministers usually appointed CCLs for those who they prefer to have as Chief Secretary. However, with the removal of Adityanath from the CCL post made everyone feel that he had lost the chance to be the CS.
But after a dramatic turn around Aditya Nath Das was re-appointed as CCLA within three days. With that came the clarity that he was the next CS. Aditya Nath Das has also worked in the water resources department for a long time since the YS regime.
