Jana Reddy Is all alone in Nagarjunasagar battle

Congress candidate for Nagarjunasagar bypoll and senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy is finding that the much-touted support promised by all factions of the party to him in the bypolls is simply not there. Most Congress leaders are keeping away from the campaign and are busy with their personal works.

Initially, there were indications that the Congress would put up a united show in Nagarjunasagar. But, now, Jana Reddy is almost alone. Even otherwise, the Congress in Telangana is in bad shape. It had stood fourth and fifth respectively in the recent Graduate MLC elections in Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal seats. The party had lost its security deposit in Dubbak bypoll and could win just two corporatrs in the GHMC elections. Given this situation, one expected that the party would fight a last ditch battle in Nagarjunasagar. But, now, it appears that the party has not learnt any lessons from the past defeats. So, Jana is alone and fighting.

Inside sources in the Congress say that there is a fear among the senior leaders that Jana Reddy would be made the PCC chief if he wins the elections. To prevent him from becoming the PCC chief, various faction in the party are not cooperating with him. Thus, the whole Congress set up is now busy defeating Jana Reddy.
