The LPG distributors have threatened the government that they would stop delivering the LPG cylinders if the delivery boys are not given the Covid vaccine. The LPG distributors association leaders said that several delivery boys turned Covid Positive and as a result are facing severe health complications. Quite a few delivery boys have even died due to Covid 19.
Hence the delivery boys should be given priority and should be given vaccination, the association demanded. If they are not vaccinated, the cylinders would not be delivered to customers, they threatened. They demanded that the delivery boys should be vaccinated before May 29. They said that the association members and the delivery boys were putting their lives in peril to serve the people at large and hence they should be vaccinated on priority basis.
Interestingly, till a month ago, vaccines were freely available and there was absolutely no rush at the vaccination centres. Yet, the people did not go citing various pretexts. Several have even raised doubts about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine and did not take the jab. With the second wave threatening the public at large, they are now queuing up for vaccine and are even threatening the government of non-cooperation if the jab is not given.
How will KCR government deal with them? Will it address their demands to ensure a hassle free LPG cylinder distribution? What happens if the Government says it is helpless? Let’s wait and see how things unfold.
