BJP Secunderabad MP Kishan Reddy, Telangana state Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy are among the firebrand politicians in the state known for their intense speeches and crowd-pulling ability.
The three leaders have one thing in common, they have achieved success after tasting a big failure. When Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao went to the early elections in 2018, the trio lost the election as MLA.
After losing as MLA, the trio went on to win as MPs and hold big positions. While Kishan Reddy became Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Culture, Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay were made Telangana state chief of Congress and BJP respectively.
Despite tasting a defeat in the 2018 elections, they didn’t lose faith in themselves and bounce back with double strength. The leaders have proved the popular saying that failure is a learning experience for success.
BJP’s Kishan Reddy had contested the 2018 elections as MLA from the Amberpet constituency, but he lost the elections. Later, he contested the Secunderabad Lok Sabha elections and emerged victoriously. He defeated TRS Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s son Talasani Sai Yadav in the elections. BJP made him Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs. In Narendra Modi’s new cabinet, Kishan Reddy was made the Cabinet Minister, the only leader from Telugu states to find a post in the cabinet.
Revanth Reddy tried his luck in the Kodangal Assembly elections and lost the elections. Despite giving his best effort, Revanth Reddy was defeated by Patnam Narender Reddy, TRS candidate in the election. Revanth bounced back after the defeat by winning the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha elections in 2019. Recently, he was appointed as the TPCC President.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar lost the early elections in 2018 from the Karimnagar constituency to TRS Gangula Kamalakar with very few votes. Sanjay emerged victorious from the Karimnagar Lok Sabha elections by defeating TRS candidate Boinapalli Vinod Kumar and eventually became the state chief of BJP of Telangana.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s decision to go for the early elections has changed the positions and the fate of the three leaders of the respective parties.
