YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has an unusually large number of officially appointed advisors for various things. One wonders why he has so many advisors when he is rarely seen consulting or discussing with them. Most of these advisors are merely ornamental with practically nothing to do.
A couple of such advisors have in fact resigned from the post as they have no work at all. Now the latest is that he has got another advisor. This advisor has been appointed recently by the YS Jagan government.
This advisor is former president of AP NGO association Chandrasekhara Reddy. He is expected to advise YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on service rules of the employees. One wonders what he will do as the IAS officials are already there to advise YS Jagan on such issues. The government can always consult the employees unions. Given this, Chandrasekhara Reddy has no role at all. The legal department of the government will advise him on the legal issues arising out of the government’s decisions on service rules. The advocate general usually fights the cases arising out of such decisions.
Given all these, where is the need for Chandrasekhar Reddy? What kind of support can he possibly extend? What kind of advice can he offer to the chief minister? Even the NGOs are wondering why Reddy was appointed and what role he would play. But, utterly unmindful of the commotion he is creating , Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is out on an advisor-appointment spree.
