It is the first time that an Indian film was presented at the famous Comic-Con as the team of ‘Project K’ which is titled ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ had made its debut the huge event which is happening in San Diego. Team members Prabhas, Kamal Hassan, Nag Ashwin, Ashwini Dutt, Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt were present at the event. Even Amitabh Bachchan joined the team through video call but it is star actress Deepika who was absent at the big event.
She even posted ‘See you there’ a few days back but she wasn’t able to attend the prestigious event. Sources say that there is a reason behind her absence at the Comic-Con. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG), American Federation Of Television and Radio Artists) and Writers Guild of America (WGA) are protesting in the US since May. They are fighting against Hollywood’s injustice towards workers. Deepika is a member of this association and according to their rules, the members should not be attending any of the big Hollywood events. That is the reason why Deepika was not able to be a part of Comic-Con and the promotions of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in America.
If not, she would have been there at the event along with the entire team. She was quite prominent in the glimpse and her character is going to be very vital in the movie. The glimpse is getting a huge response and people are highly excited about this project. Let us wait and see what ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has in store for us next year.
