A Historic Moment At Mumbai’s Versova Beach

It is definitely a historic moment at Mumbai’s Versova after almost 20 years. Since the past few days, we have been reading news about the clean-up drives at this place by a group of youngsters to help turtle hatchlings on the beach. They even make sure to convoy them till they reach the sea without any trouble. Now, surprisingly, the rare turtle is back to this beach after two decades.

Cut into the news, Olive Ridley turtles are the rare turtles that left the Mumbai beaches long ago, due to pollution. And now they are back to the city. The fantastic news is that the Olive Ridley sea turtle is back to Versova beach after nearly 20 years. With those turtles nested and Hatched at the beach, Mumbai people are flooding to pay a visit to them. Probably some better ‘Swacch Bharat’ will do more to the marine conservation.

As per the reports, as many as 80 hatchlings made their way to the Arabian Sea, the other day and the Mumbaikars are happy to see their old friends back to the city, claiming it as a life-changing experience for them.

The Olive Ridley sea turtle is popularly called as Pacific Ridley, and they mostly found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, where the temperatures are warm and tropical. Currently, social media is celebrating the arrival of these rare species to Mumbai beaches.
