A Staggering 200 Crores For Rights Of ‘Pushpa – 2’?

Creative director Sukumar did not think of writing ‘Pushpa’ as a story of two parts at the beginning. After shooting for a few months, they decided to split the story into two parts and released the first part in 2021. The movie ended up being a blockbuster and raised the expectations heavily on the second part. The shooting for the second part is underway and it is expected to hit the screens in the first half of 2024.

The first part was such a big hit that the dialogues, mannerisms and dances of Allu Arjun became a sensation across the country that even celebrities started to recreate it. The songs of the movie were chartbusters and they got hundreds of millions of views in every language they were released. ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was one of the highly watched movies on Amazon Prime Video.

The latest reports suggest that the Mythri Movie Makers are receiving fancy offers for the streaming rights of ‘Pushpa: The Rule’. If sources are to be believed, an OTT platform offered a staggering 200 crores for the digital rights in all languages. This is a huge offer but the makers are yet to finalize the deal. Apparently, the discussions are still going on with Netflix and it may become a done deal soon. Getting more than the movie budget through OTT rights is just amazing and the producers are surely going to end up in huge profits.

Directed by Sukumar, this movie is produced under Mythri Movie Makers banner. Malayalam star hero Fahadh Fasil is playing the antagonist’s role. There are many other actors like Sunil, Anasuya, Ajay and others who are playing key roles in this movie. Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer and he has given sensational songs for the first part. The expectations over the second part are sky high since ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ turned into a pan-Indian success. Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine in this movie.
