After Governor, Home Minister Involved in Sexual abuse?

Hours after Meghalaya governor submitted his resignation following a sexual harassment controversy, the state Home Minister Horju Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh has found himself under media scanner in an alleged rape incident of a 14-year old girl.

The unproven allegations of raping a minor girl are widespread, after a video of four men raping a woman at his son’s guest house went viral. The news apparently attracted more significance in view of governor’s resignation following similar stir. In regard with this case, the investigation team have already taken 16 people, including a state legislator, into police custody.

While there’s growing demand for resignation of Horjo from opposition leaders, he has continually exuding confidence in coming out clean and faultless. “The Chief Minister of state, Sangma should immediately sack Horju as Home Minister to allow police to perform a free and fair investigation in the case,” said the BJP spokesperson Navin Kohli.

Mr. Horju, the Congress party leader went on to give a clarification that it was not him in that video and said, “Neither my son nor I run the guest house. It is being run by state government.” Calling these allegations ‘politically motivated’, the Meghalaya home minister clarified that he’s not going to offer his resignation as he did not do any mistake.
