Some times many wonder why certain satires are being thrown at some stars. It sounds great when someone calls a flop as a flop but what is the point in calling the attempt itself as a flop? A similar thing is happening with Mahesh Babu right now.
As Mahesh has other day teamed up with Sony Pictures India to produce Telugu-Hindi bilingual “Major”, featuring Adivi Sesh in the lead, some critics are wagging their tongues, accusing that the superstar’s wife Namrata Shirodkar is cashing on the hero’s brand big time. These comments are surely bringing laughs in film circles.
If we have a look at all the big superstars in the world, they all produce their own movies, films with other stars and associate themselves with many events and charities too. We have Hollywood star Tom Cruise is the co-producer of Mission Impossible series, and we have Shahrukh Khan not just having his own production house in the name of his wife Gauri, but also has a visual effects studio himself.
Only south stars are somewhat like they don’t produce their films but always walk away with huge pay packets from the producers. Back in the 90s, Chiranjeevi used to produce many of his films, though he hasn’t produced many films with other heroes. And now, Mahesh is someone who is trying to erase that remark on Telugu stars, by producing not just his own starrers, but also with other heroes.
So what is the need to call this as a greedy plan of making money? Isn’t that a good thing that a hero who earns crores of rupees is investing it back in the same industry he’s part of? Not just Mahesh, we have to wish that tomorrow Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Vijay, Ajith and all other super stars should start their own banners to produce films with others.
