Amazon’s biggest campus outside US, opens in Hyd

American multinational technology company, Amazon has opened its biggest campus outside the United States in Hyderabad. With an investment worth Rs 400 crore, Amazon has laid foundation for this campus in the year 2016. The construction completed in three years and is all set to hit the full-fledged operations post the opening ceremony.

This campus has many specialties and here are a few. Located in Nanakramguda, the campus is spread across 10 acres while the construction area occupies three million square feet and interestingly the parking space is allotted 10 lakh square feet. All these details make Amazon’s single largest building in the world in terms of total area. Also this big office space can accommodate 15,000 employees and currently Amazon has 62,000 employees across India. The indirect employment is estimated to be double than the above numbers.

Amazon also holds its biggest warehouse in Hyderabad with four lakh square feet and is planning to expand it to five lakh square feet and is heard to have received approvals from the concern authorities. Amazon is doing big investments in Hyderabad and all thanks to the friendly policy laid by the Telangana government.

Telangana CM KCR was supposed to make it for the opening ceremony. As he is not available in the city, Home Minister Mohammod Ali made it as chief guest along with IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
