When the trailer of ‘Housefull 4’ has hit the marquee, many Telugu fans noticed that the background music used in the film is actually the bit-music lifted from ‘Ammadu Lets Do Kummudu’ song from Megastar’s Khaidi No 150. And many thought that actually they might have remixed that song in Hindi for the movie as Devi Sri Prasad earlier gave Ringa Ringa song in the same way.
Other day, the song ‘Booth Raja’ from Housefull 4 has come out and it features the music from Ammadu Lets Do Kummudu song. Also, the song has someone else composing it and someone else singing it, without any connection to Devi Sri Prasad. That indicates the song from the upcoming Bollywood films has its BGM copied blatantly without giving due credit to original creators.
Back then, Telugu films used to have such copied music from Hollywood music videos and Hindi songs. We have local versions of Shakira’s Whenever Wherever to Mere Sapnon Ki Rani in Telugu, as these versions are unofficially made without any permission from the original creators. It looks like Bollywood is treading in this path now.
