Another Good Move By YS Jagan

Special Status is a sentiment among the people of Andhra Pradesh. It grants many exemptions for the state to grow and unfortunately due to previous government, it was compromised. For the ‘Special Status’ many people agitated and went to jails.

In a good move by the YSRCP government, all the cases against people who have protested were asked withdrawn. On Friday the government has issued G.O number 773 informing the Director General of Police (DGP) that the department of Home Ministry is dropping all the cases recorded earlier. The GO also mentioned the DGP to instruct advocates to file a petition for withdrawal in the concerned courts.

As per Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act 2014, AP should get five years of ‘Special Category Status.’ The BJP government in New Delhi replaced the ‘Special Status’ with ‘Special Package’ to which then state government accepted. But this did not go well with common people and political parties. Many have protested in the state and in New Delhi, yet it remained as an unreachable fruit.
