The issue of students of the private schools and colleges being restricted by the educational institutions to appear for the classes for not paying the fees has reached the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Hearing the petition, the High Court issued key directives to the educational institutions. Don’t stop the students from appearing to the classes for not paying fees. This applies to both online and offline classes, the High Court said.
During the arguments, the High Court also made it clear that the exam results cannot be stopped if the students failed to pay the fees. As an alternative measure, the Court directed the institutions to collect fees in installments.
Staying the G.O no 57 issued by the AP government to reduce the tuition fees by 30 percent for the 2020-21 educational year, the Court said the fresh orders will be subjected to the final verdict given by the court.
On the other hand, the Managements of private schools in the state are fighting to see that they get the dues in fees from the parents. The management even found fault with the GO to cut short the tuition fees.
Batting a blind eye towards the Coronavirus situation in the state, the educational institutions are operating without following the pandemic guidelines making things worse for the students.
The parents of the students are also worried about their children sending them to the schools and collges given the Covid-19 scare. On top of this, the institutions are restricting the students from appearing to the classes.
