AP SCS Slogans On The Delhi Streets

Starting off the march for Special Status in New Delhi today from AP Bhavan, N. Chandrababu Naidu along with MPs, MLAs and MLCs of the TDP walked the streets of the national capital shouting slogans. The march which ended at Jantar Mantar had leaders demanding Special Status and other assurances made in the Act to be fulfilled.

Alleging that the Narendra Modi government has done injustice to Andhra Pradesh, he said that the Prime Minister during his visit to the state had assured to implement the promises made in the Act, but has forgotten them now. With a list of 18 demands, Chandrababu along with TDP legislators submitted a memorandum to President Ramnath Kovind.

Criticising the BJP for neglecting and discriminating against Andhra Pradesh, he said that the promises were made in the Parliament after unanimous support from parties but the Prime Minister seems to have forgotten what is in public record. “Where is cooperative federalism in this country under the Modi government when their sole aim is to destabilise non-BJP state governments and create a constitutional crisis,” he said.

Chandrababu also staged a day-long fast in Delhi which brought many Opposition allies together including former PMs Manmohan Singh and Deve Gowda, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, TMC, SP, Shiv Sena, NCP, Aam Aadmi Party, Yashwanth Sinha, Shatrugan Sinha and several others who are against the BJP.
