Bhagyanagara Veedhullo Gammathu Review

Actor Srinivas Reddy turning director with this comedy film has raised curiosity.

Let’s find out whether he succeeded in his maiden directorial attempt.

Story:
Srinivas Reddy and his friends (Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Satya) are in search of a beautiful girl to play heroine’s role in their short film for a YouTube. They happen to meet a girl (Dolly Shah) who seems to be mentally-challenged.

Around the same time, Srinivas Reddy gets to know that he won a lottery of Rs 2 Cr prize but the ticket was kept in a pocket of junior artiste’s suit while filming a YouTube video sometimes ago.

While in search of their suit, a police officer (Vennela Kishore) is on the hunt for capturing a drug racket in the city. All situations mix up leading to a series of silly incidents.

Artistes’ Performances:
Srinivas Reddy is the lead actor of this film but he has acted more like a comedian. He and his batch of comedy actors like Sathya, Praveen, Shankar and Sathyam Rajesh had done skits that are similar to Jabardash. Vennela Kishore is wasted.

Technical Excellence:
The movie is shot like a YouTube video with low standards of production design. Neither cinematography nor music, nor any technical department has put in a decent effort to bring quality.

Highlights:
Occasional humorous dialogues

Drawback:
Everything else
Amateur direction
Cheap production design
Low-level humor

Analysis
When even TicTok videos are generating better comedy and YouTube comedy short films are being made creatively with better production design, director Srinivasa Reddy has presented this film with outdated ideas, silly humor.

This film is an attempt to group all the available comedians in one movie. Srinivas Reddy and his group comedians have formed a club that regularly meets every month to celebrate. They have now all come together to act in this movie.

Directors like EVV Satyanarayana had made such attempts 25 years ago but his madcap entertainers possessed a proper script, coherence in the story.

Director Srinivas Reddy stitched all disjointed sequences together, many comedy skits in one place and released it as a movie.

A couple of satires about the trend of YouTube Thumbnails (“Cheera Kucchillu Dopukovadam Ela”) have generated laughs but the humor is mostly at the base level.

The less said about Srinivasa Reddy’s direction the better. Better watch Jabardasth videos on YouTube than this silly attempt.

Bottom-line: No Gamathu
