BJP wants Jagan to order CBI probe on Naidu

The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded that YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy order a CBI probe into the alleged acts of omissions and commissions of the previous Telugu Desam Party government headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

While appreciating the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in releasing the white papers on the financial position of the state, BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana said Jagan’s responsibility does not end by indulging in blame game against the Naidu government by releasing white papers.

“The charges levelled against Naidu in the white paper should be investigated. The chief minister should order a CBI probe into the alleged corruption and irregularities in administration of the Naidu government,” Kanna said.

The BJP leader said the TDP was losing its ground in Andhra Pradesh gradually, as the party leaders had realised that Chandrababu Naidu had the lost the ability to lead the TDP.

“That is the reason why they are inclining towards BJP. We welcome anybody who has faith in our party philosophy and leadership,” he said.

Kanna ruled out the possibility of the BJP restoring the alliance with the TDP.

“Our party president Amit Shah had already made it clear that the doors of the NDA were already closed to the Chandrababu Naidu. So, there is no question of any alliance with the TDP in future,” he said.

Stating that the BJP would play the role of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh in the coming days, Kanna found fault with the Jagan government’s plans on utilisation of Godavari river in association with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana.

“We have no objections if Jagan makes friendship with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Our only concern is that the interests of Andhra Pradesh should not be neglected,” he said.
