BUZZ: Keerthy Suresh likely to play Chiranjeevi’s sister in ‘Vedalam’ remake?

According to latest speculations in the tinsel town, national award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh has reportedly been finalised to play the role of Chiranjeevi’s sister in ‘Vedalam’ Telugu remake which will be helmed by Meher Ramesh of ‘Billa’ fame. In the original Tamil film starring Ajith Kumar as the protagonist, Lakshmi Menon essayed the sister’s role of Thamizh and bagged applause from all quarters. Initially, Sai Pallavi’s name floated around in the media for a couple of months but it looks like the makers have zeroed in on the ‘Mahanati’ actress. However, there is no official confirmation on this news as of now.
This much-anticipated remake is expected to go on floors once Chiranjeevi wraps up his present film ‘Acharya’ and ‘Lucifer’ remake. Recently, the 65-year-old actor said in an interview that ‘Saaho’ director Sujeeth Reddy has backed off from the project due to personal reasons and VV Vinayak has taken over the direction responsibilities.
At present, Keethy Suresh has a bunch of big-ticket Telugu films in her kitty. Besides playing the leading lady in Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe and Nithiin’s Rang De, the 28-year-old actress is essaying the role of a sharpshooter in Nagesh Kukunoor’s sports-drama ‘Good Luck Sakhi’. She is also looking forward to the release of ‘Miss India’ on OTT.
Recently, the makers of ‘Good Luck Sakhi’ have unveiled a making video on Keerthy’s birthday and judging by the promo, the cast and crew seemed to have had a blast with a friendly ambience on the sets. The 34-second video kicks-off with Jagapathi Babu and Keerthy posing as Krishna and Radha followed by the quirky walking style of the actress. She is playing a village belle in the film and her character will bring bad luck to everyone. Later, she trains hard to become a sharpshooter and competes at a national level.
