Chowdary begins blackmail politics

What could turn into a headache for Telangana Congress, former MP and senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdary has demanded the party high command to give her the Khammam Lok Sabha seat. While the candidates list for Lok Sabha has still not been finalised, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has announced that by this month end the list could be out.

In this direction, Renuka Chowdary seems to have declared her decision to the Telangana Congress leaders. According to party sources, if she is not given the Khammam Lok Sabha seat, Renuka has threatened to quit the party. In a meeting with leaders at Gandhi Bhavan, she has requested for the seat and however, later threatened the party leadership.

With Congress already losing face in the Telangana Assembly elections, the seat allocation for Lok Sabha is becoming a headache for the party leadership. On the other hand, several senior Congress leaders, as well as candidates from Telugu Desam Party, are vying for Khammam Lok Sabha seat.

In such a scenario, there is speculation that the Congress High Command in Delhi is of the opinion to give a part of the Lok Sabha seats to young politicians in the Congress. If this is implemented, then several seniors in Telangana Congress may be disappointed as their expectations will not be met.
