The concept of live-in relationships have become as common as marriages these days. Today’s generation prefers to practically live with their beaus believing it to be a better way of leading a relationship. But actress Deepika Padukone believes otherwise. Within a month, Deepika and Ranveer Singh will celebrate their first wedding anniversary, on Nov 14 and the actress opened up on why she chose not to stay in a live-in affair with Ranveer.
Deepika told, “If we had started living together earlier, then what would we be discovered later on? That’s what this year has been, living together and discovering each other. I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it.”
As we too agree with Deepika, it is true that one would not have left with any surprises post marriage as living together before the wedding will leave no scope to know hidden or new hobbies, aspirations and tastes. Living-in is a big step and we believe Deepika wanted that giant step to happen with her plush wedding.
Looks like Deepika is still old-fashioned at heart and that of course, we call it in a positive way. Because the actress not only had a traditional wedding on demand but also values traditions to a great extent. Deepika said though she and Ranveer had a lot of temptation to move away from the traditional, it was still important to me. “For me, it’s about wanting to do everything at the right time. It’s how I saw my parents do it, so I didn’t know any other way,” she added.
