Hero Karthi said his upcoming movie ‘DEV’ is based on director Rajath Ravishankar’s real-life experience.
Speaking at the pre-release event, Karthi said, “For every five years, there will be a change in generation, love and the way we talk and behave with our parents. For the current times, how love is dealt is shown in this film like for example, we can meet a girl who is in New York also. This element is shown in the DEV.”
He added that single parenting, broken marriages and break-ups have become common. How this generation copes with love and friendship, highlights ‘DEV.’
Complimenting Rakul Preet Singh, Karthi said during ‘Khakee’ days she was worried about few things and on the phone she used to inform me. Then I had an idea about what she is and that is why I recommended her name to director Rajath for ‘DEV.’
Rakul thanked Karthi for suggesting his name to the director and it was a pleasure working with him she added.
Coming to her character, she said, “I play the role of Meghana, a feminist, strong, independent and self-driven woman.”
She also praised director for having a depth and emotion that he brings to the screen.
‘DEV’ is releasing on February 14th.
