Did Sai Reddy Really Touch Modi’s Feet?

Did YSR Congress party’s MP V Vijay Sai Reddy prostrated before Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on Tuesday? The answer is yes, according to Telugu Desam Party MPs, who said they were witness to the incident.According to them, it happened when PM was entering Rajya Sabha and Sai Reddy first greeted him with folded hands and then bent on his knees to touch Modi’s feet. The Prime Minister lifted him with his hands and patted on his back.

TDP MP C M Ramesh said it was shameful on the part of Sai Reddy to prostrate before Modi, just to get out of the CBI cases.“We have the footage as to what has exactly happened. We shall disclose the same to the media shortly,” he said and demanded that Modi owed apology to the people for insulting their self-respect with his act.Sai Reddy, however, defended his act. He said he had just greeted Modi with folded hands as he was entering Rajya Sabha.

“In fact, it was TDP MP Sujana Chowdary who had first saluted Modi. Then Modi came towards us and greeted us and I reciprocated his namaskar. It is the Telugu culture that we should respect the elders. It is unfortunate that the TDP leaders are trying to make an issue out of it,” he said.Sai Reddy reminded that even if he has to confront Naidu, he would salute him because the former is the chief minister of the state.

“It is a different matter that I hate Naidu as a person,” he said
