Director Kodi Ramakrishna is Dead

Well-known director Kodi Ramakrishna, who was hospitalized and was critical, has succumbed to his ill health. Kodi Ramakrishna has breathed his last on Friday (Feb 22, 2019) at a private hospital where he was treated.

He was admitted to a hospital in Gachibowli on Thursday after he fell sick. He was put on a ventilator.

Kodi Ramakrishna’s films had been famous for graphics, high visual effects. Ammoru, Devullu, Devi, Arundhati are a few blockbuster films directed by him. Devi was the launch film of popular music director Devi Sri Prasad.

Born on 23rd July in Palakollu of West Godavari district, Kodi Ramakrishna had made his directorial debut with popular film Intlo Ramaiah Veedhilo Krishnaiah and there was no looking back for him since then. The film had reflected the lives of middle-class people and beautifully captured those moments. Muddula Mavayya, Muvva Gopaludu, Pelli, Satruvu are a few more films directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Apart from directing films, he had also acted in a few films. His last film was Nagarahavu in 2016 in Kannada and the film was dubbed into Telugu.

Kodi Ramakrishna had suffered paralysis a few years ago and yet he had directed the film Nagarahavu in 2016. Tollywood has recently lost a veteran director Vijaya Bapineedu. Even before Telugu film industry is yet to come to terms with his loss, the untimely demise of Kodi Ramakrishna is a huge loss to the industry and director fraternity.
