Finally Chidambaram gets bail

Former union finance minister P. Chidambaram has finally got bail in the INX Media money laundering case. The Supreme Court of India has granted bail to Chidambaram and after 105 days of being in Tihar jail, the Congress leader will walk free.

However, the Supreme has restricted Chidambaram from giving any interviews to the media in connection with the case and also can’t travel abroad without the court’s permission.
Chidambaram was asked to furnish bail bond of Rs 2 lakh plus two sureties of same amount.

Under dramatic circumstances, Chidambaram was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 21. Later on October 16th he was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Chidambaram’s son Karti expressed happiness on his father getting bail and took to his Twitter handle and wrote, ”Phew. At last after 106 days :).”
