Goa CM Manohar Parikkar is no more!


The four time Chief Minister and senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Manohar Parikkar (63) died on Sunday evening at his residence in Dona Paula. Parikkar is the first IITian to become a state CM in India. He suffered a prolonged illness and undergone treatment for pancreatic cancer last year. On 30th February 2019, Manohar Parikkar presented the state budget in Goa assembly and got admitted to AIIMS the following day.

His death is a major loss to Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa. Parikkar, a tall leader of BJP, was one of the few personalities who proposed Narendra Modi’s candidature for Prime Minister. He also served as Defence Minister in Narendra Modi’s government. He is known for his ‘extraordinary performance’ for any role given to him.

Parikkar’s wife Medha Parrikar also passed away some twelve years ago and he is survived by two sons.
