Huawei Y9 with four cameras, 4000mAh battery, Android Oreo launched

Huawei has launched a new budget smartphone dubbed Y9 in Thailand. The smartphone features an 18:9 aspect ratio display and four cameras and has internals similar to the Huawei Mate 10 Lite and Honor 9i.As for the specifications, the Huawei Y9 is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 659 chipset along with eight processing cores at a clock-speed of 2.3GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. The Y9 sports a 5.93-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels along with 18:9 aspect ratio.

On the photography front, the device features a dual camera system on the front and rear, comprising of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. Meanwhile, the front side houses a 16MP sensor paired with a 2MP camera. On the Connectivity front, the phone includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Y9 draws its power from a 4000mAh battery and comes in three colour variants — Black, Blue, and Gold.

As of now, it is not known whether the Huawei Y9 (2018) will step in other markets. Further, the company has not yet revealed its pricing and availability details. However, some rumours suggest that the might carry a price tag of EUR 200 (approximately Rs 16,000).
