I Bought Filmfare Award for 30K: Star Hero

Senior Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, father of young hero Ranbir Kapoor, often makes headline worthy statements. However, this time he has made a startling revelation that exposes not only his dark secret but of the film industry in general.

Speaking on the sidelines of his autobiographical book, ‘Khullam Khulla’ launch, Rishi Kapoor revealed that he had bought the first Filmfare award that he won in 1974.

It may be noted that Rishi Kapor made his silver screen debut as lead actor with his father Raj Kapoor directorial film ‘Bobby’ in 1973. The next year, he won the Filmfare award for Best Actor.

Now, Rishi has revealed the dark secret of buying that award. He added that he later felt ashamed and never again resorted to such award buying act.

Rishi Kapoor’s revelation has become a hot topic in film circles as there are already numerous gossips in circulation on how celebs buy awards just for self-satisfaction and also to stay in limelight. Rishi Kapoor said that he paid Rs 30,000 for the award in 1974. Imagine, how much an award costs in 2017 !!!
