It is undeniable that Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan played a key role in TDP trouncing YSRCP in 2014 AP Assembly elections and forming the government. Senior TDP leader and Civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju however has now shocked many by saying on Tuesday that he doesn’t know who Pawan Kalyan is.
During a media interaction in Eluru of West Godavari district, when reporters asked his response to Pawan Kalyan’s objection to the appointment of North Indian IAS officer AK Singhal as Executive Officer (EO) of the TTD, Raju allegedly said that he has stopped watching films several years ago and that he doesn’t know who Pawan is.
A few TDP leaders have earlier discredited Pawan and the support he had given to TDP-BJP ally in 2014 elections but a senior leader like Ashok Gajapathi Raju making such dishonoring statements against the Jana Sena chief have truly pushed many into disbelief.
The TDP MP from Vizianagaram might have forgot that defeating then-strong YSRCP wouldn’t have possible especially in Uttarandhra if not Pawan’s mammoth fan following stood in support of the Yellow party, just on the word of the actor-turned-politician.
