IAFC Hosted Social Security Seminar in Dallas

Dallas, TX: Indian American Friendship Council (IAFC) hosted a free admission including complimentary lunch seminar on “Social Security Information” to benefit the Indian American community in Dallas on Saturday September 7, 2019.

IAFC invited Public Affairs Specialist Angie Hoquang from the Department of Social Security Administration to give the presentation and answer the questions from community.

The event was well attended by more than 100 people with lot of questions. Mrs. Angie gave an impressive presentation touching various aspects of social security and answered many questions from the audience effectively.

The seminar lasted about two hours with an active audience participation. This event was well received, lauded the efforts of IAFC and requested organizers to host such kind of sessions on different topics to educate the aging Indian American community members.

Hon. Michigan State Representative Padma Kuppa attended the event as Chief Guest of Honor. IAFC President Dr. Prasad Thotakura introduced the Chief Guest Hon. Padma Kuppa to the audience.

Hon. Kuppa in her keynote speech appreciated the efforts of Dr. Prasad Thotakura and his team for all the community activities they organize. She felt such seminars are very essential to the community to dispel misinformation and misunderstandings about social security.

IAFC President Dr. Prasad Thotakura, Executive Vice-president Mr. Taiyab Kundawala, Vice-president Mr. Rao Kalvala felicitated Hon. Padma Kuppa and Angie Hoquang.

After the event, Hon. Michigan State Rep. Padma Kuppa visited the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, the Largest Gandhi Memorial in the USA and paid floral tribute to Gandhiji as part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Gandhiji.

Community leader Mr. Subbu Jonnalagadda accompanied Mrs. Padma Kuppa to the memorial.
