Ind vs Aus: Kohli Getting All Praises For Defending Smith

Other day, a great gesture from Indian captain Virat Kohli when it comes to displaying the spirit of cricket in all the ways possible has won hearts across the world. He’s getting praises from legends to world-class media houses for his act to protect fellow cricketer and former Australian captain Steve Smith.

When Smith went ahead to field at the boundary line, the crowds, mostly Indian, have started booing him and they started sounding ‘cheater cheater cheater’, in connection with the ball-tampering saga that happened a year back. However, Kohli, who was batting then, felt sad for the acts of crowds. Immediately he gestured to them saying that they should clap for him but not do the boos.

Though Kohli and Smith had some on-field spats in the past, the Indian captain stated that it is ill of the crowds to treat Smith that way. “What has happened a long back has happened. He apologised and came back to the team, and doing well for his team. We should respect him” said Kohli at the post-match interview.

Meanwhile, India has outshined Australia other day, awarding them a 36 runs defeat in the league match.
