India wins first ever series in Australia

The Indian cricket team has made history by winning first ever Test series on Australian soil. The fifth day of the four Test in Sydney has been called off due to rain and the match is settled for a drawn.

The team led by Virat Kohil is already leading the series with 2-1 margin. About seven decades back India ha first toured Australia and since then they have been continuously failing to win. “I’ve never been more proud to be part of a team than this one right here,” said Kohli accepting the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

Cheteshwara Pujara has been awarded Man of the Match and Series for his contribution of 521 runs in four Tests.

This is India’s sixth overseas victory and that comes after a decade. Virat Kohli has registered four series wins after taking over as captain from MS Dhoni.
