Even as July 14 marks the World Cup final, notwithstanding the cricket fever, as many as three movie releases are scheduled this week. Anand Deverakonda and Shivatmika’s vintage love story Dorasaani, Sundeep Kishan’s horror thriller Ninu Veedani Needani Nene and Meghamsh Sri Hari’s youthful romance Rajdhoot are clashing at the Box Office even when cricket fans are keeping their fingers crossed.
However, with India’s defeat in Semi-finals match in the hands of New Zealand in the knockout match and exit of India from the World Cup, Indian fans might not watch the world cup finals with great enthusiasm as India is no longer playing the World Cup. This is expected to turn into advantage for this week releases who are heaving a huge sigh of relief. So, Sunday’s Box Office collections are safe since Indian team fans may opt for alternative entertainment in form of cinema.
So, movie collections could improve on Sunday if cricket fans who can’t see the finals without India walk into cinemas.
