Inside Talk: Dwivedi to face serious charges for not cooperating with SEC..?

Panchayati Raj senior officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi had intentionally chosen not to cooperate with the SEC, with respect to the local elections.

Dwivedi was supposed to prepare the voters list, but he wrote a letter to the SEC, stating that he does not wish to be a part of the elections.

Dwivedi’s letter had shocked everyone, as he was known to be a very strict officer, who stuck to the rules no matter what, and always did what was right, and even conducted the general elections of AP, being the Chief Electoral Officer.

Now that the Supreme Court has given its verdict with respect to these elections, and has given its permission to conduct the local elections, preparations are in full swing for the elections.

SEC Nimmagadda is making sure that everyone who previously refused to be a part of the election procedure, are not transferred and kept away from their election duties.

Dwivedi too, is receiving the same treatment, and more serious actions are expected to be taken against him, as he had promised the HC to support the SEC, but did not.

Nimmagadda has requested for Censure proceedings against Dwivedi, with the main charge being that he did not prepare the voters list.

The voters list that is now being used is based on the 2019 list, which means that several youth will not be able to vote for the upcoming elections.

A woman named Akhila, has filed a petition in the HC, stating that she is now not eligible to vote because of the voters list not being updated.

Furthermore, Nimmagadda has also requested the HC to include all of his charges against Dwivedi, in his work experience, officially.

On the other hand, there are high chances that the HC might file Contempt of Court against Dwivedi, as he did not abide by the HC’s orders, and decided to not cooperate with the SEC.

While Dwivedi’s reasons for not cooperating with the SEC are not known, what is now clear is that his decision is going to have a serious impact on his career, in the most negative way possible.
