Is Kotla family in Kurnool looking towards the BJP? Are former union minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy and his wife Kotla Sujathamma planning to join the saffron party? Highly placed sources say that the Kotla family, which had ruled Kurnool for decades, is looking for a honourable rehabilitation in the BJP.
Sources say the Kotla family is not looking for positions of power either in Rajya Sabha or in the party hierarchy. They only want a reception that they feel they are entitled to. They want either Nadda or Amit Shah to welcome them into the party. They do not want to join in the presence of local leaders. Sources say they have opened channels of communication with the BJP top brass. If sources are to be believed, the BJP is interested in them.
Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy was AP’s chief minister for two terms and Sujathamma was an MP and Suryaprakash Reddy himself was a minister of state at the Centre. Now the family finds itself on the crossroads and is looking for political rehabilitation. Will BJP be their last resort? Let’s wait and watch.
