Jagan attack case: Yet another shock to Naidu!

In yet another rude shock to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh high court on Saturday rejected his government’s petition seeking to issue a stay on the National Investigation Agency’s investigation into the case of knife attack on YSR Congress party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25.

Following instructions from Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh government officials filed a house motion petition in the high court, raising the objection on transferring the case to National Investigation Agency.

The officials said the Centre had entrusted the investigation into the attack on Jagan case to the NIA though it did not come under any terrorist or insurgency category.

In its petition, the government argued that the Centre was infringing upon the law and order powers of the state government by giving the case to the NIA.

It said without the requirement of NIA intervention, the AP police would complete the investigation into the case

The lawyers of YSRC alleged that there is some conspiracy behind filing the house motion petition during the vacations of the court.

The high court said, that there is no need to stay the investigation and there is no urgency on hearing the petition. It deferred the case to Monday.
