Jagan effect? KCR tour to AP cancelled

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who was scheduled to visit Vizag today, has apparently cancelled his trip to Andhra Pradesh. The TRS Chief was supposed visit Vizag for the Kumbabhishekam to be performed by Swami Swaroopananendra Saraswati in Sri Saradapeetham at Chinna Mushidiwada on February 14. This religious event was expected to be attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

According to trustworthy sources, the Telangana Chief Minister has cancelled his tour after the announcement of Jagan’s house-warming ceremony got postponed. The house-warming function of YSR Congress President Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s newly constructed house in Tadepalli was supposed to happen today. However, the party leadership stated that Jagan’s sister’s ill-health has caused them to cancel the function. This function was supposed to be the meeting point of Jagan and KCR in Andhra Pradesh.

However, political observers believe that KCR’s visit to Andhra Pradesh at this point of time may dampen his popularity further. It is a well-known fact that KCR has abused and vocally called “Andhra people villains” and created an anti-Andhra sentiment in Telangana. With this in view, it is believed that Jagan has also been suggested not to be seen as a close ally to KCR as it could jeopardise his chances in Andhra Pradesh, ahead of the assembly elections.
