Jagan launches home delivery vehicles!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been trying to make home delivery of ration for all the eligible people, a reality, ever since he came to power in 2019. The arrangements for this were in the making for a long time now, and things have finally kickstarted today.

Today, at the Vijayawada Benz Circle, Jagan flagged off 2,500 ‘Mobile Dispensing Units’ (MDUs), that are being used for the delivery of ration to doorsteps. From February 1st, every single household that is eligible for free ration from the government, will get it delivered at their doorstep, with the help of 9,260 vehicles. More than 830 crores are being spent on this scheme, by the government.

High quality rice is said to be delivered to every household within the first 18 days of the month, with the help of volunteers. Fingerprints of the eligible people will be taken before the rice is delivered. The rice will also be delivered in reusable bags, according to the precise weight, and these bags will be sealed tight along with tags so that there would be no adulteration.

The autos will be given to individuals who would be delivering the ration, on subsidy basis. With each auto costing Rs. 5.8 Lakhs, the subsidy comes up to Rs. 3.48 Lakhs. It is estimated that 700 vehicles will be allotted through ST corporation, 2,300 through SC corporation, 3,800 through BC corporation, 660 through minorities corporation and 1,800 through the EWEB corporation.
