Jana Sena To Contest 8-10 LS Seats In Telangana!

Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan did not contest the assembly elections in Telangana held in December last, though he had announced well in advance that his party would definitely take part in the elections.

His reasoning was that his party did not have enough time for the preparation due to premature dissolution of the state assembly by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in September.

Though there were three months between the dissolution and the elections, Pawan did not take risk as he knew that his party had not much base in Telangana. However, his party leaders discreetly supported the TRS in some constituencies like Kukatpalli.

It appears the Jana Sena chief is keen on fielding his party candidates in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. It was evident from the appointment of Jana Sena parliamentary committees for as many as seven LS constituencies in the state.

On Sunday, Pawan appointed commitees for Medak, Nalgonda, Bhongir and Warangal Lok Sabha constituencies.

Earlier, he had appointed similar commitees for Secunderabad, Malkajgiri and Khammam constituencies. According to sources, he might appoint committees for another two or three constituencies.

Apparently, Pawan is of the view that Jana Sena has gained some presence in these constituencies and therefore, has the chance of putting up some fight, though it is unlikely that it can win any of these seats.

In any case, one has to wait and see whether Pawan will really field candidates in these constituencies or back out at the last moment as he had done during the assembly elections.
