In the latest episode of Karthika Deepam, Karthik and Deepa worried about Sourya and Hima’s absence in the school. Karthik calls up Soundarya to know what happened to Hima. Learning that Karthik and Deepa are at the school, Soundarya asks him to wait until she reaches there. She refuses to reveal further.
She tells Deepa that the kids are fine and asks her to pretend to be worried for the sake of Karthik. Hima informs Soundarya and Anand Rao that Sourya is not found anywhere in the house. Soundarya ignores this and leaves for the school. Anand Rao and Adithya join Hima in searching for Sourya.
Meanwhile, Sourya reaches home only to find it locked. She assumes that her mother (Deepa) must have gone to the school. She further determines to stay with her mother and never return to Karthik’s place.
Adithya and Hima try yet fail to reach Soundarya to inform her about Sourya. Both Karthik and Deepa argue over Hima and Sourya. Soundarya soon intervenes and discloses that Hima bunked the school just because Sourya did. Soundarya then takes Karthik along with her.
Durga calls up Monitha and blackmails her for money. When Monitha refuses to give the amount he demanded, Durga threatens to expose her in front of Karthik.
Soundarya takes Karthik to a hotel and informs him that she is planning for a special puja that he has to perform along with Deepa. He refuses to take part in the puja. She then emotionally blackmails him thereby seeking a promise from him to perform the puja.
