The last rites of former speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao will be held in Narsaraopet and for this, the police have deployed 700 personnel to look after the law & order. With 144 section already under effective, 15 DSPs, 14 CIs and SIs are put in place and in sensitive places, the police have set up pickets.
Also, the people of Narsaraopet have called for a volunteer shut down and all the roads are looking deserted. The famous Mahatma Gandhi cloth market is also closed. Politicians and prominent personalities who are reaching Kodela’s residence are given special accommodation.
Kodela will be cremated at the nearby Hindu crematorium and all the arrangements are made. As the state government has asked to do the state honours, SP Jaya Lakshmi informed that they have made necessary preparations.
