Kodela’s Son Falls In Line, To Pay Fine!

When former Andhra Pradesh Speaker and senior Telugu Desam Party leader Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was alive, his son Shivaram and daughter Vijayalakshmi virtually ruled the roost in Palnadu region, particularly in Narsaraopet and Sattenapalli and even in Guntur town.

There were allegations of largescale extortion, illegal settlements and land grabbing against Shivaram.

Not just people belonging to other political parties, but even those from the TDP were said to be his victims. He could get away with their alleged activities only because of his father’s influence.

After losing power, Kodela’s family lost all its glory and for whatever reasons, Kodela was compelled to commit suicide. The police are thoroughly probing the causes that led to his suicide.

With Kodela’s death, Shivaram has lost all his aura. He is now said to be afraid that he might have to go behind the bars for his past deeds. So, he has decided to settle the disputes with all his victims. He has also decided to fall in line with the rules and get out of cases.

Just before his father’s suicide, the police filed a case against Shivaram for resorting to large scale evasion of motor vehicle tax in his Gautam Honda Showroom in Guntur.

The Honda company cancelled his dealership while the transport department authorities seized the showroom.

There were allegations that he had evaded MV Tax on as many as 40,000 two-wheelers of Honda by producing fake invoices.

The transport department officials on Tuesday imposed a hefty fine of Rs 1 crore on Shivaram for violating the rules under Section 42 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act 1989.

The police have registered Kodela Sivaram under sections 406, 409, 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

Apparently scared of the police cases and loss of prestige, Shivaram said he would pay the entire fine amount on Wednesday, though he had the chance of going in for appeal. He is likely to clear the dues by evening.
