Lord Venkateswara Swami is the biggest asset of AP: Chandrababu Naidu

Tirumala temple chief priest A.V. Ramana Deekshitulu’s statements about AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has irked the opposition parties and many people in the state.

After being reinstated as the chief priest of Tirumala temple following the YCP government’s decision, Deekshitulu’s hailed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and equated him with the god who is keen to protect Dharma. “Whenever there is a threat to Dharma, Lord Vishnu takes birth to protect it,” Deekshitulu said.

These statements didn’t go well with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N. Chandrababu Naidu and he indirectly criticised the chief priest’s remarks. Naidu, who visited Tirumala today, said God is God, man is man and man can never be God.

“It is wrong to compare humans with God. There have been many unholy incidents in Tirumala in the past.” He said it was not a good tradition to re-employ a person who has been accused of a pink diamond case. Venkateswara Swamy is the largest asset to the state. He said that everyone has a responsibility to protect the sanctity of Tirumala.
