Madhavi to be Deputy Speaker In Lok Sabha?

If things go according to plan, then YSRCP might have one of its members as Deputy Speaker in Parliament.

Since the post of Deputy Speaker in Parliament is normally given to the Opposition, the contenders are Congress and DMK which have the largest number of MPs.

Congress and DMK have apparently declined the offer which makes YSRCP, the next in line.

Unconfirmed reports say that YSRCP might propose the name of Goddeti Madhavi. She represents Araku constituency (Reserved) and had won the election defeating Kishore Chandra Deo of the Telugu Desam (TDP).

Madhavi had declared the least assets of all contestants for Parliament across India, approximately worth 1.5 lakh rupees compared to Rs 250 crore declared by Hema Malini from Mathura.

At 26, not only is Madhavi, the youngest Parliamentarian elected from the State, she is the second youngest MP after Chandrani Murmu, 25, of the BJP from Keonjhar in Odisha in the new Lok Sabha.
