West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was about to fly to New Delhi, yesterday on September 17, had an impromptu meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben at Kolkata airport. Soon after they saw each other, they greeted and had a few minutes of polite conversation.
Mamata Banerjee also reportedly gifted Jashodaben a traditional saree. Modi’s wife was in Kolkata to visit Dhanbad in neighbouring Jharkhand. She also offered prayers at the Kalyaneswari temple at Asansol in Bengal.
The chance of meeting pictures of Mamata with Jashoben before boarding Delhi flight are going viral now. Today, Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet PM Modi in New Delhi. She is expected to take up issues like funds for her state.
As we know, on Tuesday, Narendra Modi celebrated his 69th birthday and Mamata Banerjee wished PM in a tweet in the Bengali language, “Birthday greetings to Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji,” Ms Banerjee, an arch-critic of PM Modi”.
