The much awaited single from Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Sarileru Neekevvaru is finally out. Devi Sri Prasad took his sweet time to deliver a pakka mass song, but there’s nothing refreshing about the much hyped ‘Mind Block’ song.
It is just another Devi’s regular mass song with a very ordinary tune and good ‘dappu’ beats.
Devi did try to mix rap style into his regular mass rhythms, but the fusion turned out to be a bit underwhelming.
Only striking element about the song is Mahesh’s lazy elegance when he utters ‘Nuvvu Kottara’ and a couple of other dialogues that he mouthed.
Also the dappu beat is foot tapping. The tune is ordinary and it may slowly grow on its listeners in repeated listening.
Devi was under tremendous pressure after Ala Vaikunthapuramulo songs turned out chartbusters. He has taken so much time to deliver a song that the team finally felt it has the potential to stand up to Ala Vaikuntapuramulo songs.
However, Mind Block will surely not appeal as much as Ramulo Ramula let alone Samajavaragama song. It is just another regular song from DSP who is clearly out of form.
Even Blazee and Ranina Reddy’s energetic vocals didn’t lift the song to be a ‘Mind Blocking’ number!
