N Chandrababu Naidu departs Hyderabad after Airport protest

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday was detained by the Chittoor police at the Renigunta airport while he was going to attend an election campaign in the district.

The TDP leader argued with the cops as they stopped him from leaving the airport. Condemning the police behaviour, Mr Naidu had staged a sit-in protest at the airport.

High drama ensued at the airport after this incident. The police had detained Naidu, citing pandemic rules and the election code of conduct ahead of the urban body elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Tensions at Renigunta Airport has come to an end after Naidu left for Hyderabad again. He discussed with Chittoor Rural SP and left the airport as it was the last flight.
