Nama Quits TDP, Likely To Get TRS MP Ticket!

Telangana TDP senior leader and politburo member Nama Nageswara Rao has resigned to the party and is likely to join the ruling TRS party. Nama is said to be upset with TDP for the past few days and eventually he decided to quit the party.

In the December assembly elections, Nama contested on behalf of the MahaKutami and lost to TRS MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar. Since then he is staying away from party activities and he is also in opinion that TDP is wiping out of Telangana. Nama had the options of Congress and TRS before him. About three days back, he is said to have met CM KCR and TRS working president KTR at Pragathi Bhavan. Accordingly, Nama has made up his mind to join TRS.

Having lost terribly in Khammam district in the assembly polls, TRS chief might decline ticket to sitting MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and therefore, Nama is lobbied to join TRS so as even if Ponguleti switches the party, TRS will have a strong contender with them.

KCR is making strategic moves. We hear that TRS might announce the Lok Sabha candidates today or tomorrow. Seven sitting MPs are likely to be retained and the rest nine are new faces.
